A few weeks ago my doctors office called and said I had failed my regular glucose test by ONE POINT and that I now had to report to the hospital and take the 3 hour test. Does Mother Nature know me but at all??? I hate needles with a passion, I think I would rather be bitten by a snake. So sitting in a small hospital room for 4 hours waiting to get my blood drawn 6 or 7 times was a real treat!
I'm still waiting to get the results back but if Mother Nature really hates me, I'll fail that one too and not get to eat sugar for the rest of my pregnacy.

I think David Cook is so talented, I would go out and by his album if he had one. I have already downloaded his 'Hello' performance. And I thought he did an amazing job with Billie Jean last night!

1. Go to http://maps.google.com/help/maps/streetview/index_.html
2. Click on 'go to street view'
3. Type any address you want in the search area
4. When the map appears, if there is a picture that has a caption that says 'street view' click on that and find the house.
5. What do you think - total invasion or really cool?

This is the Georgian Hotel that we stayed at, it is one of the oldest and nicest hotels in Santa Monica...
In the mornings Annie and I would walk a couple of blocks to the public promenade and get breakfast at McDonalds...
Then we'd go back to the beach and spend a few hours in the sand. It was still a little too cold for a bathing suit and Annie didn't care about actually getting in the Ocean. She just wanted to get her feet wet and play in the sand...
Then we'd walk back to the promedade and go shopping. By shopping I mean walking into every store that MIGHT have shoes for Annie to try on and we'd spend at least a half an hour in every store so she could try on EVERY shoe. I think I'm in BIG trouble...
At night we'd go back to the pier and the promedade with Preston then eat dinner and just hang out. The beach is great, they have all sorts of things to do and all kinds of equiptment to play on. Both Preston and Annie had a great time playing...
The Santa Monica Pier is one of the oldest and had the very first amusement attractions. The carousel was built in 1917 and was really amazing. Annie had a GREAT time riding the carousel...
There were tons of rides and games and what does Annie choose to ride, the donkey for a quarter...Trying on shoes AGAIN, what a big surprise! These were her favorites to try on because they were jellies and the had glitter and would light up when you walked. I think she tried these on 5 or 6 different times...
Since we were already in California and we don't go there enough already, we decided to go to Disneyland AGAIN! We spent 3 days there and once again, Annie had a great time (and so did Preston)...
If you have to travel with a child, this is the ONLY way I recommend that you do it...

I was SHOCKED to say the least, she's never done anything like that before.
So for the rest of the day I tried to get her to "read" other words. She would sound out every letter perfectly and then when I would ask her what it said she would say she didn't know. The most classic was when we were waiting in line at McDonalds for breakfast, she was sounding out the letters to the word 'welcome' and I said, "Annie what does that say" and with all the excitement a kid could muster she yelled out "CHAIR"!

I've never shed so many tears of joy as I did when Danny Noriega got voted off - that couldn't have happened too soon! Also, who is voting for Amanda Overmeyer? Does anyone actually like that kind of music or that "look"?
Who else is an idolizer?

Today Preston and I took Annie to the Legacy Center Swimming Pool. It is just absolutely adorable and has all sorts of fun things for kids. Among the fun things is this huge water slide. At the end of the slide it dumps you out into a pool about 4-5 feet deep. There is no specific age requirement for the slide that I'm aware of, I guess they're just trusting people to use good sense.
Preston was going to take Annie with him down the big slide so I was waiting at the bottom for them to come out. While I was waiting I see this little girl who was MAYBE 4 come shooting out of the water slide and not come back up above the water. No life jacket - nothing. So finally the lifeguard jumps in and pulls the little girl out. The little girl must have sat there with the lifeguard for nearly 5 minutes before her mom came over to "check" on her child. The mom got a good talking to from the lifeguards and they did some paperwork and sent her on her merry way.
About 10 minutes later we hear whistles and see another lifeguard jump into the pool and pull anther little girl out - she was maybe 2. A few minutes pass and this same mother of the year comes over to "check" on this child. She starts getting mad at the child for not swimming in the right place, etc. Again, got a good talking to from the lifeguard (apparently the first lecture didn't set in) and again, paperwork was filled out.
What kind of mother takes her 2 little kids to a public pool and has to have both of them recovered by a lifeguard within 10 minutes???
