Grandma: Hey Annie, what is your sisters name again?
Annie: Well, it's Halle but I think I'm going to call her Steve because I like it way better.

2 weeks...

It's hard to believe that Halle has only been here for two weeks, it seems like longer (in a good way). It's also hard to believe I was worried about making room in my heart for 2 little girls. I can't imagine loving these two any more than I do. Everyone who told me that your heart just grows and makes room was right! Here are some pictures of Halle on her 2 week birthday...

bird and bullseye...

When Annie was born she was SUPER skinny. She had absolutely no fat on her legs at all so we started calling her birdie legs. Birdie legs soon evolved into birdie which then evolved into bird - which became the nickname that stuck. I think to this day, Preston and I have only called her Annie to eachother a handful of times. When we're talking to each other about her, we ALWAYS call her Bird.

On Mother's Day, Annie's Uncle Ryan called and asked her about her new baby sister that was to be born the next day. He asked her what we were going to name the baby and Annie's answer was "Bullseye".

While we were in the hospital and still had no name for the baby, we needed something to call her so I just started calling her Bullseye in reference to what Annie had said we were going to name her - lo and behold, that name has stuck too.

So now we have two adorable little girls....Bird and Bullseye!

she's here...

Well, we're finally out of the hospital and our house now has one more occupant than it did last week! She was born on Monday, May 12th and weighed in at 7 pounds 4 ounces. We finally decided on the name Halle, which I think fits her perfectly! Here are some pictures...

mr. baseball...

Preston joined a softball league with some friends that started several weeks ago. I think he's really enjoying himself - actually, I KNOW he is! It's fun for me an Annie to get to go and watch too.

Preston is one of those people who just has a natural athletic ability. No matter what sport he tries to play he does it and does it well - but baseball has always been one of his favorites and one that he is best at.

If I'm being honest, one of the reasons I like going to watch his games so much is because I'm always so impressed by him. He can run SO FAST and really talented and it's kind of a turn on. Plus, he just looks so cute in baseball stuff. What a treat for him to look out into the crowd and see me, his 500 pound, 9 month pregnant wife cheering him on!!!

funny annie...

This is just another post so I'll remember a few of the funny (and embarrassing) things Annie has said lately...

-My mom got a new swimming suit a while back. She wanted me to look see if it was an ok swimming suit so she tried it on. Before she came in the room my mom said "I'm not under the impression that I'm going to look cute in this or any swimming suit, I just want to know if I look awful". The minute my mom walked through the door Annie goes "oh Grandma, you are WAY too fat for that".

-The other day Annie was spending some time with her Grandma Lori. When Grandma dropped her off she told me this story. She said Annie was sitting on her lap and looked up at her and was just staring at her neck. Grandma finally asked what she was looking at and Annie said "Grandma, your neck skin is really yellow and you look like a chicken right there".

- In our last ward there was a man who had lost his eye many years ago and has been wearing a patch ever since. During the quietest part of church, Annie stands up on the bench and with the most excitement I've heard in a long time YELLS "look mom, there is a pirate at our church"!

uncle ryan...

Preston's brother Ryan (hi Ryan) is on an LDS mission in South Africa. He left when Annie was just older than 2 so I was a little worried that she might not remember much about him while he was gone. We try to talk about Uncle Ryan as much as we can to her and mention the missionaries often as well. It also peaks her interest that he lives in Africa which we tell her is like the movie Lion King - so she thinks that's REALLY cool!

I love hearing the ways she associates things with her Uncle Ryan - who is a FABULOUS Uncle by the way. The other day the doorbell rang and Annie ran downstairs to answer the door (her newest obsession, she has a TOTAL meltdown if she can't answer the door). So when the doorbell rang I said "Annie, who do you think it is" and as she was running down the stairs she goes "oh mom, I just know it is Uncle Ryan". I'm glad it was grandma or she would have probably been really disappointed not to see Uncle Ryan on the other side of the door.

This is just a bonus picture for Ryan...nobody else will think the Red Baron is funny...

what I'll miss...

Though there aren't very many things I'll miss about being pregnant, I'm trying to see the bright side of things since I only have exactly a week of this left.

1. I'll miss my awesome hair. I don't know what it is but when I'm pregnant I have the most wonderful hair. Granted, it would look a lot better and I would be a lot better to look at if I actually DID my hair, so you'll just have to take my word for it that it's awesome!

2. I'll miss my blemishless skin. Also another benefit of pregnancy. I should have been doing advertisements for Neutrogena or Mary Kay something - but I doubt they like models with double and even triple chins. I still only have one forehead though, they could have done a close up on that!

3. I'm dreading my least favorite aunt paying me monthly visits again. There is nothing like a nine month break from that experience. Enough said.

4. I'll miss my "bad attitude free pass". Let's face it, I have a bad attitude and I'm ornery most of the time anyway. At least with pregnancy people think that's the reason and don't judge me too harshly. Once I'm not obviously pregnant anymore, I'll have to start behaving better - dang it!

5. I'll miss my excuse to eat whatever I want. Seriously, all I've done for 9 months is shove whatever I see that looks good (and sometimes things that don't) into my mouth without one SHRED of guilt. Pregnant=Fat anyway so enjoy it while you can right? After next Monday, I'll be back to just being fat.

6. Finally, I'll miss the blanket "I'm pregnant" excuse for everything I don't feel like doing. When someone calls to ask me to substitute nursery "sorry, I'm pregnant" won't work. When Annie asks me to get something I won't be able to say "go ask dad, I'm pregnant". On the upside, at least I'll have the excuse "sorry, I just had a baby" for at LEAST a year! Sorry Preston!!!

FINALLY an episode of The Office that was good and funny last night! I was a little worried about what the writers were up to during their strike after the last 2 new episodes, but last night there was actually a lot to laugh about!

I think one of the problems is that Ryan (B.J. Novack) is a writer and producer so he always writes himself in...when actually, he'd be doing us all a favor if he'd just write himself OUT!!!!!!!!!!

Hopefully the rest of the episodes are more like last night - either that or hopefully I get a life so I just don't care about what is on the television anymore (don't count on that one happening any time soon)!

ten times...

Here are the rules. You list things you've done ten times (or more)...pretty simple, but it's actually harder than it sounds!

-I've been to Disneyland 10 times in the last 3 years.
-I've seen the following movies at least 10 times: While You Were Sleeping, Return to Me, Ever After, Lord of the Rings, Newsies, and The Sound of Music
-I've eaten at Cafe Rio, Chili's, Costco and Wendy's at least 10 times in the last year.
-The other night I ate 10 otterpops, I just couldn't stop.
-When I got The Office Season 3 for my birthday, I watched the entire season in one day...which is well over 10 episodes.

If I think of more then I'll have to list them later...that was hard! Ok Becky, Jessica, Kerri, Ashby and Amy - you're it!
